
Six Day Jungle Trekking
Itinerary
Day 1
Your jungle adventure begins at 9 AM after breakfast, your guides will pick you up. Trek through the jungle where you might see orangutans, gibbons and various monkeys. Look out for hornbills and the great argus (Sumatran peacock). Your guide will tell you about the plants, animals and how some plants are used for medicine. You’ll reach your campsite by afternoon, enjoy dinner cooked by jungle chefs and sleep surrounded by the sounds of the jungle. Expect about 6-7 hours of walking.
Day 2
More wildlife on the second day, trek for 6-7 hours. You may see more animals like wild orangutans and the black gibbon, monkey, With a bit of luck, you might even spot tiger tracks or a tiger from a safe distance. Arrive at your campsite by late afternoon, relax by the Landak river and enjoy a swim and dinner.
Day 3
After breakfast we continue trekking for 4-5 hours deeper into the jungle where the forest becomes more natural and less visited by tourists. This area provides good opportunities to see monkeys, birds, and other rainforest wildlife. During the trek the guide will also show you interesting jungle plants and explain their traditional uses. Around midday we stop for lunch and rest before continuing our journey. In the afternoon we arrive at our second jungle campsite, where we spend our second night in the jungle.
Day 4
Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest and enjoy breakfast prepared by our guide. Today we explore another part of the jungle while searching for wildlife and enjoying the beautiful rainforest landscape. Our guide will help you look for orangutans if you very Luck You will see the Malayan Sun bear, Sumatran Elephant, Sumatran Tiger, and other animals while explaining about the natural environment of the jungle. In the afternoon we arrive at our third jungle campsite where we relax and enjoy dinner prepared by our guide. Overnight stay in the jungle.
Day 5
Salt Lake and river fun in the morning, visit another salt lake to look for tigers or Sumatran elephants. After breakfast back at camp, you can either continue wildlife watching or learn how to catch fish in the river.
Day 6
The last adventure day, wake up to the jungle sounds and have breakfast by the river. Float down the river on rubber tubes (“jungle Taxi”) with your jungle crew back to Bukit Lawang, enjoy this exciting six days jungle trekking filled with wildlife sightings and adventure in the beautiful Gunung Leuser national park.
