DAY 1 Jungle Trek

tart your jungle trek at 9:00 am, when our English-speaking guide will pick you up directly from your guesthouse. Afterward, you will begin your adventure through the lush rainforest.

After a short walk, you’ll cross the Bohorok River and begin heading uphill. Soon after that, you’ll enter Gunung Leuser National Park via the old orangutan feeding area. This area is popular due to the frequent presence of semi-wild orangutans. As a result, it offers a great chance for early wildlife sightings. In addition, the environment here is rich in biodiversity, which increases your chances of spotting unique species. Consequently, you’ll see a variety of wildlife as you trek deeper into the lush rainforest.

As you progress, you’ll hike up and down hills toward the western part of the park. Along the way, your guide will point out different species and plants. Furthermore, they will provide valuable insights about the rainforest and its rich biodiversity. As a result, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for this unique ecosystem. In addition, your understanding of the intricate connections within the environment will grow, making each step of the journey even more fascinating.

By 4:00 pm, you’ll arrive at the Jambur Batu River, located next to a large waterfall. Here, you’ll stay overnight at a riverside campsite.

Now is the perfect time to unwind. You can take a refreshing swim, enjoy coffee or tea, and relax surrounded by nature.

In the evening, our team will prepare a traditional Indonesian jungle dinner over an open campfire. Tents, air mattresses, pillows, and sleeping bags will be provided for a comfortable night’s rest in the rainforest.

DAY 2 Jungle Trek

The next morning, after a hearty breakfast, you’ll begin a 6-hour jungle observation. As you hike deeper into the rainforest, your chances of encountering wildlife will increase. Furthermore, the terrain will be steep; however, the views will be spectacular. Additionally, your guide will provide insights into the various species and plants you encounter along the way. Around noon, your guides will prepare a simple jungle lunch on top of a hill. Moreover, the scenery throughout the National Park will create lasting memories, making the hike even more rewarding. As a result, the entire experience will leave you with a deeper appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the rainforest.

For the second night, you’ll camp by the Bohorok River. Afterward, our team will serve a delicious Indonesian dinner. Later in the evening, enjoy the jungle surroundings and join your guides in making a campfire. As a result, you’ll have a memorable experience, soaking in the beauty of the jungle at night.

DAY 3 Jungle Trek

You’ll wake up to the sounds of the jungle. If you’re lucky, you may spot Sumatran monitor lizards, tortoises, and river butterflies near the campsite. Afterward, a hearty breakfast will fuel you for the day ahead. Once energized, you’ll then hike further upstream along the Bohorok River for about 6 hours. Along the way, you may also see wild Sumatran elephants. Moreover, the terrain will offer plenty of opportunities to spot more wildlife, thus enhancing your jungle experience.

As you progress, you’ll become more familiar with setting up camp, preparing a real jungle dinner, and working as a team. Your third night will be spent camping on the Bohorok River. Being in the jungle at night is a completely different experience, with various animals coming to life.

DAY 4 Jungle Trek

The day begins slowly, with a relaxed morning of sleeping in and enjoying a leisurely breakfast. Afterward, you can swim, sunbathe, or simply unwind around the camp.
